Openness to Critique?

I wrote a post, then received a challenger this is our diologe: “Forget it, I am not that concerned with how my truth hurts your beliefs as I am at how your beliefs hurt the truth…” Challenger, Subjective or objective truth? Damien Marie AtHope, What about it are you asking, please restate your question? Thanks. Here is my blog post, “Grasping the status of truth (ontology of truth)” http://damienmarieathope.com/2016/09/18/grasping-the-status-of-truth-ontology-of-truth/ Challenger, Questioning your meaning of the word “truth” that you used above. The second mention of the word to be exact, as the first mention is obviously suggestive. Damien Marie AtHope, I posted my blog on the ontology of truth. Challenger, I don’t care to read your blog, thanks anyway. I’m aware of the different types of “truth”. Damien Marie AtHope, Cool. Challenger, You’re good at shrugging people off, btw, experienced your talent at the Reason Rally also. Damien Marie AtHope, Is that meant as a compliment or an Insite you feel should show me where I can improve as a person? Challenger, I honestly wondered then, and I’m wondering again now if you’re just a billboard for yourself or an atheist activist. Just being perfectly honest, nothing more. Damien Marie AtHope, Well I always welcome true correction if it is needed. And I will consider what you said and hear how you felt experiencing me. I always with to improve do thanks for bringing it to my attention. Challenger, Simple questions can have simple answers. And it’s good to know who your fellow activists are. Damien Marie AtHope, I hope to demonstrate with my life that I want to...

Religious Beliefs = lying?

Religion is little more than organized lying, with internal group religio-centric inclusion driven reality; most often due to long-term child hood indoctrination as well as socio-religious programing pushed again and again. This indoctrination, weather by intent or not, is a structure of hypnotic manipulation. Such manipulation causes deep kinship like bond, turning the “I Believe in xyz religion because I am compelled by its level of evidence” to “I Am xyz religion and Nothing can ever change that as my family have always been and will always be xyz religion”, an internal intergroup obligation to the religion, instead of instead on possessing a real and earnest understanding of the of reality at hand. Claiming to know things you don’t know is a rough estimate for the definition of both lying and certainly in religious beliefs. Therefore, strong religious beliefs are lying, thus, those believing them and expressing religious assurity are then by definition liers. Stop lying and claiming to know things not only you don’t know but that which by complete lack of any kind of evidence or reason must be rejected as outright lying. Saying I have a feeling is only evidence of a feeling. Feeling by themselves don’t create things in the world, nor can they confirm it either. So, stop lying and saying it can.   PS. Lying, verb (used without object): “To speak falsely or utter untruth knowingly, as with intent to deceive. Or, to express what is false; convey a false impression.” Ref...

Individualism, Represents Self-Reliance and Hostility to a Connected Humanity

This is an image above is one I adapted a little from a powerpoint slide show: Individualism, Collectivism, High And Low Context Without community we all suffer to not see that is a ontological confusion of the natural reality of humans an group cohabit social animals, individualism is an abstract nonsense we created to make our divisiveness to a oneness of humanity. Think otherwise then try making everything your own including the resources we use every day like clean water, food, electricity, etc. If individualism stayed only to the person and was contained in them, limited to only them personally as in having the freedom of ones own beliefs or lifestyle then great but when t is pushed in to the public where it can tend to be quite divisive and separating of and between people it becomes a juggernaut of potential oppression and humanity alienation as well as inspiring the desire for green and the ruin of natural resources and our fellow humans should not just be some now hot commodity to fleece as it is was some individualism ideal. I personally support collectivist mutualist thinking. Yes, you heard that right, a collectivist mutualist and while I am not a communist I am part of socialist thinking. Thus, “To me individualism, represents self-reliance and hostility to a connected humanity.” It is said that “gods/ancestor spirits”, or possibly “karma” what ever magical thinking mumbo jumbo reality disconnected nonsense like, the secret or what ever saying in someway that something nonreal cares about somewhat highly evolved hairless primates sitting on a terraformed biosfer rock that is not only spinning at...

Fighting a Troll?

I posted a video: Atheist in a Wheelchair challenges a street preacher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=_P7voWUkJnA&app=desktop Challenger, The atheist in the wheelchair looks like he ate his former Christian self. He is against Jesus because Jesus commanded his followers to fast. God doesn’t exist because that fat piece of shit ate him. My response, I am the Atheist in the video so you are talking directly to me and I feel ashamed for your lack of intellectual integrity with your comments attacking the person like an inferior quality person. Bring it on then. Lol Challenger, You are a social justice warrior, I find that to be enough comedy. My response, I would laugh at your shamefulness but it’s quite immoral so all I can do is see we have such lack of moral standards as thinkers and hope one day you respect yourself more. Challenger, There is nothing immoral in stating facts. Prove I said anything immoral. My response, immoral: violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics. “Intellectually honest” means you make arguments you think are true, as opposed to making the arguments you are “supposed” to make and/or avoiding making arguments that you think are true that you aren’t “supposed” to make. Yes, can’t stand the message and cannot defend or challenge a belief without shaming your character. People of honor would challenge me not you. You desecrate you trying to shame me. Good going.  🙂 Challenger, I just hate Brian Fields, and this picture was funny. My response, lie as you did nothing different...

Possible Religion Motivations in the First Cave Art?

I was asked, “I am doing some research on primitive art and I have a question for you about metaphysical psychology in the first known versions of art from the Ancient Lascaux peoples of Southern France. If you were going to step inside the mental space of the cave peoples creating these drawings what would you say they were thinking? In many cases the locations of these caves were not easily accessible. From what I have read some historians think this was a primitive form of voodoo magic, killing the beast on the walls of the case will help with success of the hunt in reality. I do not think this is the most logical psychology. I would postulate that the earliest forms of art were just narrative, visual, descriptions of the animals that sustained survival for the tribal and primitive cave people. Do you agree or do you think they were already creating mythical and metaphysical connections. I would add that if the metaphysical connections developed they were post creation of the art (probably several generations later) by individuals in the tribe looking to project additional meaning and significance on the art to introduce fear or control in the group. The stories about the art essentially changed by the storytellers to reflect their own fears, ambitions, and primal needs. Please comment and let me know your thoughts / interpretation.” My response, I think it is more likely was hunting magic to me in many cases I believe. Wish out even looking I know that Voodoo is a mix of at least to religions something like West African (Yoruba...
