Analytical atheism

Analytical atheism: comes to disbelief because of deliberative analytical thinking on the god concepts. Psychologists believe that humans process information in two main ways: some thought processes are more intuitive and automatic, whilst others are more analytical and deliberative. In studies it has been shown that religious and supernatural beliefs are associated mostly with intuition and deliberative analytical thinking is less likely to hold religious and supernatural beliefs. Analytic thinking in general can promote atheism. Deliberate analytical thinking can cause people to believe less in God, according to a new study. The researchers, who found  that religious belief arises from gut feelings, were quick to say their study was not a referendum on the value of religion. Both analytical thinking and the intuitive processing that seems to promote religious beliefs are important, said study researcher Will Gervais. “Both are useful tools,” said Gervais, a doctoral candidate in psychology at the University of British Columbia. “Ultimately, these studies are looking at cognitive factors that might influence belief or disbelief, but they don’t have anything to say about the inherent rationality or worth of religion.” Psychologists have found that people process information through two distinct systems. One is the analytical system, marked by deliberate, logical processing. The intuitive system, on the other hand, uses mental shortcuts and gut feelings, Gervais said. Earlier studies have shown that people who tend to go with their gut are more likely to believe in God than analytical types are. Gervais and his UBC colleague Ara Norenzayan reached the same finding by giving people a test to determine whether they were more analytical or more intuitive. For example, one question asked, “If...

Adeist atheism

Adeist atheism: as you can see, we are dealing with a negative definition, an antonym, just like the words a-theist and a-symmetric. Deism is the belief that a supreme being created the universe and is no longer interfering, intervening or interacting with the universe or laws of nature (no miracles, revelations etc.) and an a-deist, rejects deism or does not share the beliefs of the deist most likely denies a supreme being created the universe exists or ever existed. Adeism is the position of unbelief, or non-belief in the existence of any God or supernatural being....

As an atheist what do you believe happens when you die?

“Damien AtHope here is a good question for you. Not. My own, As an atheist what do you believe? What happens when you die? Where do morals come from? How did the universe begin? Aren’t you afraid of going to hell?” Challenger   My responce, we cease to exist when we die, Like all life we have a desire to survive and flourish. Morality is evolutionary and psychologically a prosocial behavior acknowledgment exhibited in many animals as well as babies at an undeveloped state and we develop both cognitively as well as socially and integrate this into our moral reasoning, personality/experiences, and group expectations, to what many call morality. I dont know what started what caused the bigbang around 14 billion years ago but it’s most likely naturalistic in nature as at every level ever tested it is nature not once has nonexistent magic been a better answer, ever. Why would I feel a myth made out of fear of...

I am Responsible

I am responsible for my thinking and behaviors. I am responsible to care, as I am not alone and others have value. I am responsible to be a better me and help to make a better we, so society is a place of human flourishing for all. I am responsible to ensure a higher ethical awareness then the one found in the society I am from, to improve a better humanity for all. I am responsible to make a better world then I was given and I am starting with me, because I am responsible.  I have made many mistakes in my life but the most common one is being resistant to change. I wish to be more, to be better, as I desire my openness to change if needed, not letting uncomfortable change hold me back. I have an inquisitive mind, so I am Atheist. I am compassionate heart, so I am a Humanist. I see people matter and have value, whereas gods don’t matter and are not valuable. This is because people are real, gods are not. Simply, there is no magic to save us. We must help save ourselves and each other. We are all responsible! My quick definition of Axiology and Axiological Atheism? Atheist for Non-Aggression Atheistic Humanism? Rationalism, Freethinker, Humanism & Secular humanism?   Rationalism is a philosophy in which a high regard is given to reason (specifically logic) and to empirical observation.   Freethinker a person who forms his or her own opinions about important subjects (such as religion and politics) instead of accepting what other people say.   Humanism is a philosophical...
