To Find Truth You Must First Look

If I never look, I will always find only what I am looking for, which is, simply, nothing if I never looked. However, if I truly seek truth, I may find more than I could imagine. If you only look for nothing, you will find nothing. However, to look earnestly, you will always find a new truth waiting to be found. Be willing to look and be a truth seeker. When you believe you can have little or no facts and need only faith, you demonstrate no real love of truth. I implore you be a rationalist and accepting nothing but facts upon facts connected to reality. Faith is a proclamation of belief in the absence of or contrary to evidence. Faith is not a reasoned virtue; it is the vice of emotionalism. If it requires faith to see a thing as real, then you are admitting such a thing has nothing to do with reality. Can you not see that in the acquisition of knowledge faith, as a method is not worth believing in? Critical thinking requires you to work on your thinking continually, to make your thinking the object of thought, to make your behavior the object of your thinking, and to make your beliefs the object of your thinking. For example, take your religious thinking: All over the world, there are many belief systems and each is certain of its truth on the evidence devoid property of faith. As such, on average if you are raised where buddhism is most common, then you become a buddhist. If you are raised where hinduism is most common, then...

Variations of Human Interaction: ethical, unethical, good, bad, or evil?

To me, ethical or good and bad, unethical or evil are variations of human interaction not in any way in reality attached to some other worldly opinions. Good, Bad or Evil to me have nothing to do with superstition nonsense like sin or violations of some arbitrary religious obligations. In the age of reason we are not limited to myths or religion moral theorizing. To better grasp a naturalistic morality one should see the perspective of how there is a self-regulatory effect on the self-evaluative moral emotions, such as shame and guilt. Broadly conceived, self-regulation distinguishes between two types of motivation: approach/activation and avoidance/inhibition. one should conceptually understand the socialization dimensions (parental restrictiveness versus nurturance), associated emotions (anxiety versus empathy), and forms of morality (proscriptive versus prescriptive) that serve as precursors to each self-evaluative moral emotion. As atheists or even the scientific evidence minded we can realizing the bad unethical or harm behavior which causes moral outrage (what I deem as evil) no longer should be confused as tied to mystic religious questions with their superstition answers or even left as questions only for philosophy. . But more rightly the questions of good, ethical or bad, unethical and evil behaviors must also involve formal axiology, psychology, sociology, neurology, biology as well as should be viewed from an evolutionary perspective. I hope I am always strong enough to put my morality at the forefront in all I do, so much so, that it is obvious in the ways I think and behave. All religions have some form of self-shaming institution such as “sin” or its equivalent such as karma or something else often...

Anti-religion not Anti-people

Anti-religion not Anti-people I want to make sure everyone knows where I stand, I am against all religions and all gods but I am not against the people who believe in such nonsense. I am not trying to attack them to destroy them or anything like that. Instead I care for them for I too was once so lost in indoctrination. I am not at war with them rather I feel I am fighting for them against the lies that trap and cage them, often from birth. I don’t see myself as an executioner killing off their beloved beliefs, I see myself as emancipator assisting them in finding their own freedom out of the shackles of being belief blind, back to natural reality which presents itself as godless devoid of magical powers. Attack Thinking and Not People When I say attack thinking and not people. Some people seem to think I am relatively saying we should not hold people accountable for any beliefs. I most definitely hold people accountable for hateful thinking against other people which can motivate bad or harmful behaviors. Furthermore, while I may strive to not attack people I do hold all people accountable for their bad or harmful behavior. Beliefs are mental objects not in the world and relatively are not at much a threat as behavior which is an external interaction in the world that has a large chance to be a threat and possible harm. I Feel Good doing Good Some people seem to require threats of hell or rewards in heaven to be good to others or to even care. But I...
