The claim of hell are ridiculous and immoral, not just false.

Hell, Heaven and the Power of Imagination. Hell is just an imaginary place to put people who you don’t like and to control the minds of children when you think fear is needed for the indoctrination. Heaven is just an imaginary place you think your imaginary friend lives as well as where you get to put the people you like. And to control the minds of children when you think hope is what’s needed for the indoctrination. Most Americans believe in heaven and hell. Roughly seven-in-ten (72%) Americans say they believe in heaven as a place “where people who have led good lives are eternally rewarded,” according to the Pew Research Center’s 2014 Religious Landscape Study. Moreover, 58% of U.S. adults also believe in hell as a place “where people who have led bad lives and die without being sorry are eternally punished.” 1 “The claim of hell are ridiculous and immoral, not just false.” First, let me explain why as an axiological atheist (value theory atheist) even the belief in the concept of god is ethically vile to me. God belief is inherently immoral to me it is the belief that supports an all powerful being who willfully allows suffering, something that no ethical person would tolerate if they had the ability to do otherwise. Moreover, a common attribute of god belief is support of this claimed greater being of high intelligence and self will forcing its will and standards on other beings of high intelligence and self will. This force is unethical and abusive to the rights of humanity. Furthermore, many who subscribe to this force abusive relationship god claim an...

Interview EP (55) Mark Lee secular humanist agnostic atheist activist antitheist from Kelowna, British Columbia (Canada)

Interview EP (55) Mark Lee secular humanist agnostic atheist activist antitheist from Kelowna, British Columbia (Canada) Mark Lee is a secular humanist agnostic atheist activist antitheist; former theology student who was not born in a religious home and chose to become Seventh-day Adventist at age of 17. Grew out of his faith in the midst of studying to become a pastor at the age of 24 in the year 2000. A deeper search of the Bible using a more accurate study with historical context led to my incline of faith and feels he is a 6.8 on the Dawkins scale, but thinks he could be closer to 7 than ever resulting from recent Bible dissection believing the world would be better off without religion. Mark Lee des not technically believe the universe purposely has a defined purpose or meaning and morality is also something that has evolved in humanity within differing cultures with schooling in Psychology as well and is a quarter Métis nation. Métis is an ethnic group native to Canada and parts of the United States that trace their descent to indigenous North Americans and European settlers. The Métis in Canada are recognized as an aboriginal people under the Constitution Act of 1982; they number 451,795 as of 2011. The Métis people’s history begins in the 17th century with the unions of various French colonists, typically trappers and traders, and Algonquian women, including but not limited to Mi’kmaq, Algonquin, Ojibwe, and Cree peoples. These unions began in the east, extending from the Atlantic coast to the Great Lakes. The fur trade and colonial development drew French voyageurs...

Everyone Loves Ethics

Everyone Loves Ethics Until we add empathetic awareness to morality we will always hold a potential for error in morality discernment. People we can succeed in elevating the morally of the masses to the understanding that Ethical Thinking or Moral Reasoning Should be Rational AND Emotional. Everyone loves ethics, “You” love ethics just like everyone does in relation to themselves, “you” love ethics (you are happy for others to treat you ethically). Maybe, you like many of us, can miss this ontology of social interaction which makes everyone love ethics, and how this fact is not just a morality fact but also just a fact of our being a social animal: we love ethics towards themselves so we just need the rationalism and humanism to sometimes grasp the need to extend this to others as we are just a different “them” and they too are just a different “me” (a human being). Ethics are the standard used to support and respect rights, the value of rights is the person, that a high standard of ethics wishes to adhere to. A good person helps themselves, yet a great person my friend is found when one helps others. I am saying all one must be to be good is done to themselves, Whereas, the fullness of good, to the level of or state of greatness, happens when one helps others. Kindness is hard at times, as it often requires a death of my ego to allow the life of my potential for empathy and care. Being mean is easy. I wish to do what can be hard; kindness. Being mean is...

The Scientific Method and its Philosophy Axioms

The Scientific Method and its Philosophy Axioms Scientific Values: fallibilism, realism, & rationalism Scientific Misinterpretations Promote Relativism Religion vs. Science, Don’t Confuse Beliefs “An axiom is something that is taken to be true, to serve as a premise or starting point for further reasoning and arguments. The logico-deductive method whereby conclusions (new knowledge) follow from premises (old knowledge) through the application of sound arguments (syllogisms, rules of inference), was developed by the ancient Greeks, and has become the core principle of modern mathematics. Tautologies excluded, nothing can be deduced if nothing is assumed. Axioms and postulates are the basic assumptions underlying a given body of deductive knowledge. They are accepted without demonstration. All other assertions (theorems, if we are talking about mathematics) must be proven with the aid of these basic assumptions.” ref What is the Difference Between Science or Non-science? Some do realize all the utilized or assumed philosophy in the scientific method which to me entail things like Scientific Realism, Metaphysical Naturalism, Rationalism, Empiricism, Methodological Skepticism, Justificationism, Correspondence Theory of Truth, Falsafacationism, Falabalism, Reliabilism, Probabilism, Probability Theory, etc. Scientific Thinking not Faith Thinking “Scientific theories, it has sometimes been maintained enable us to describe precisely how things happen, but cannot really explain why they happen as they do. According to this view (which I shall call ‘descriptivism’), the .search for explanation or for explanatory theories is an illegitimate intrusion of metaphysics into science. Descriptivism is related to (but not, as is often supposed, identical with) an even more radical view, which I shall call ‘instrumentalism’ (following Popper) or ‘fictionalism’. The instrumentalist agrees with the descriptivist that scientific...

Truth Navigation: Techniques for Discussions or Debates

Truth Navigation: Techniques for Discussions or Debates I do truth navigation, both inquiry questions as well as strategic facts in a tag team of debate and motivational teaching. My eclectic set of tools involves: *The Hammer of Truth: ontology, epistemology, and axiology *REMS: reason, evidence, and methodological skepticism *Utilizing Dignity: strategic dignity attacks or dignity enrichments *Dialectical Rhetoric = truth persuasion (motivational teaching) Asking the right questions at the right times with the right info can also change minds it’s just you can’t just use facts all on there own. Denial likes consistency, the pattern of thinking can not vary from a fixed standard of thinking, or the risk of truth could slip in. Helping people alter skewed thinking is indeed a large task but most definitely a worthy endeavor. The Ethics of Character in arguments or debates  I wish to not simply think one-sided but strive for truth, even if I may be the one wrong. I also always strive to not let anger or frustration become a potential for unkind or unethical behaviors: …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. *Don’t assume ask then strive to understand not just react *Don’t see them as an enemy they are a fellow learner *Don’t see it as win-lose it’s about teaching …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. *Utilize nice behavior *Utilize nice language *Utilize nice voice Dignity, in my thinking, involves/encompass a phenomenological/psychological-awareness/cognitive-realization and the emotional sensitivity of our sense of self or the emotional understanding about our sense of self. What we need to understand as well as acknowledge is how we should honour others who are fellow dignity beings and the realization of the value involved in that. As well...
