Metal sensitivity/ reaction to certain types of metals used in jewelry is a common issue that many people experience and thus, making your metal choice important when wearing jewelry.

Pewter is a metal alloy consisting mainly of Tin, a little Copper, sometimes Zinc, and/or Silver (and in ancient times, lead), which as hardeners. As for the hardness of metals, Cobalt is the hardest at 5.0, Zinc at 2.5 and Tin at 1.5.
